Drawing Heads, Hands and Feet - Figure Drawing Intensive with Barbara Johnson

I started painting before I had ever taken a drawing course and learned the basics of figure drawing, using charcoal and graphite and blending. When I heard that Barbara Johnson was leading a class this winter out in Easthampton, I jumped at the chance to have such great instruction from such a wonderful realist painter. Much of our homework is copying famous drawings to learn various techniques. You can see Barbara’s site here with more about her work and method. Here are some of my drawings.
Here are a few of the references we have been given. It is such a gift to have this time to focus on beauty and nuance, and the others in the class are wonderful, too.
