Handmade Gratitude Cards for Healthcare Workers

A friend of mine from high school is an infectious disease specialist and she wrote me asking if I might send some cards to 30 healthcare workers she knew who would really appreciate having their spirits lifted. This set me off on an ongoing project during the pandemic to send cards of gratitude. These are a few of the 40 cards I have sent already. I have found the best way to get them to the nurses and doctors is to have a point person give me first names and then take them in to give when they go into work. The envelopes are sealed with washi tape and, like all mail, it is free of the virus after 2 days of sitting, so should be uncontaminated when opened. I am realizing now the cost of mailing, art supplies and paper is adding up, and so I may switch to offering some of these designs as printed blank cards which can be ordered in packs of 10 for $50 (includes shipping) which covers the handmade cards I continue to make to send to people when I get a list of names. In this way you can support the project and also send your own with a message to people you care about. Stay tuned as I figure this all out! and stay safe and keep courage and hope. We will come through this changed and more resilient. Some of these are for sale as prints, framed or unframed here: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/miranda-loud?tab=artworkgalleries&artworkgalleryid=912259
